WI Waterways

18" x 18"

Made for the Professional Art Quilter Alliance “Water Challenge,” this piece incorporates most of a fat quarter of Stormy Skies fabric. The schools of fish are stamped with hand-carved stamps and emphasized with small glass fish beads. The larger lake weeds are made from commercially produced fabric stitched down using a narrow zig-zag stitch and metallic thread. The smaller weeds are either yarn (couched into place with a sewing machine) or decorative machine stitching.

Free-motion machine-quilted with polyester monofilament thread.

Embellished with glass flower and seed beads
